This banjo is one of only a couple of dozen Whyte Laydie banjos made entirely by Intermountain Guitar and Banjo in the mid-late 1970's.
The Curly-Maple Neck with MOP decoration as well as as the Maple Rim were made by our shop, and the metal parts, from the nickel-plated brass hoops and tone-ring to the 2-point bracket-shoes and ball-end nuts were made to our specs by local craftsmen and finished in our shop.
10 15/16" rim and 26 1/4" Scale Length.
The engraved pearl work is an authentic reproduction of a traditional Fairbanks Electric pattern.
This banjo was built and sold in 1978, then came back to us 2 decades later and has remained in our shop museum ever since.
There is minor playing wear, but the condition and playability is Excellent.
A concealed adjustable truss-rod is accessible at the heel when the neck is removed.
